On Sat., Aug. 23, at 7:00 PM, Takemi Ueno (Class of 1983) will perform with the Litha Symphony Orchestra at the Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew, 263 W. 86th Street, at West End Ave. The program consists of Debussy's "La Mer," the 4 Sea Interludes from Britten's "Peter Grimes," selections from Rodgers' "Victory at Sea," Whitacre's "Water Night," and Pilsner's "A Light in the Ocean." Tickets are $25 in advance (at https://www.lithasymphony.org/2025oceansofmusic.html) and $30 at the door. Unfortunately, the church is not air conditioned.

Karen Mannheim Fraller (1971) Writes - “Hi Art! I came across these two mementos from "The Young Rascals" (“Good Lovin," “A Beautiful Morning," "Groovin'") concert held in the gym on December 9, 1966. It was the first concert I had ever attended, and there was quite a build up to it. Does anyone else remember this concert?”
Art Engoron (1967) Writes - I remember it well. The Young Rascals were, arguably, the best American Rock & Roll group at the time, and the concert justified their glowing reputation. She Writes - “Hi, Art, I’m staying active & enjoying California retirement. Lawn bowling is my new favorite sport. It’s an international sport. Laguna Beach Lawn Bowling Club is the largest in the USA, and it overlooks the ocean. It’s a fabulous sport for all ages, especially retired senior citizens ☀️😎☀️ I had never heard of it before, and I encourage everyone to look it up and see if they have a local lawn bowling club. There are places all across the country, including several on Long Island. They all give free lessons.”
Once a month, a group of us from the Laguna Beach Lawn Bowling Club prepare a beautiful homemade meal for the disabled homeless Veterans in Huntington Beach. We all eat together and create a wonderful time to make caring connections with the men who live there. Janice Walter organizes this, and she is pictured with me with our Lawn bowls after a game we won. So if you come to visit me, let me know, and I’ll take you there.

Greg Writes - I’m on the road to Puttgarden to catch a ferry to Denmark. Camping here is what we would call “glamping” (a portmanteau of "glamorous” and “camping”). The camp rigs that the Germans use were impressive. Danke & Guten Tag”
